The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation launches another app to address gambling harm
The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation (VRGF) — a statutory authority established by the Victorian Parliament — has launched another Cogniss-powered app, Reset. The app is designed to help people understand and address their gambling behaviors.
Developed by VRGF and clinical researchers at Deakin University, the app incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Both methods are clinically proven to help people quit or reduce gambling.
In a press statement, Victoria’s Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation, Melissa Horne, said, “The Reset app provides a great alternative to traditional counseling methods, removing barriers such as stigma that can prevent people from seeking help.”
Cogniss CEO Leon Young said, “People who engage in gambling have different triggers, habits, and goals. What’s unique about the app is that it provides personalized strategies and activities relevant to each person.
“This is only the tip of the iceberg of what the Reset app can do. It is a great example of the versatility of the Cogniss platform in creating highly customizable and sophisticated apps.”
We are honored that VRGF decided to use Cogniss for the second time to create a gambling intervention app that can positively impact the community.
The Reset app is now available on the Apple and Google Play store. For more information, click here.
