The Brain and Mind Centre & Cogniss co-host a workshop for health researchers
Digital therapeutics are rapidly disrupting the way healthcare interventions are delivered for the prevention, management, and treatment of diseases. The number of users of digital therapeutics is expected to increase from 44 million in 2021 to 652 million in 2025. Increased patient demand and the need to provide better health outcomes are some of the critical drivers of this growing market.
Brain and mind health, including mental, neurological, and behavioral health, is an important area of digital therapeutics. The University of Sydney's Brain and Mind Centre is an Australian research organization at the forefront of this area. They conduct visionary research to develop better treatments for conditions of the brain and mind.
The challenge with using conventional methods — custom development agencies or freelancers — of creating sophisticated medical interventions is that it is technically challenging, expensive, and not scalable.
Last week, the Brain and Mind Centre partnered with Cogniss to host a workshop, Creating Digital Solutions to Enable and Implement Research, to support their researchers. The presenters and panelists explored the research process challenges, how to strengthen research outputs, and more.
Cogniss CEO Leon Young, one of the speakers during the workshop, said, "It was a great opportunity for the researchers to see real-world examples and how they can bring a research idea to life at a fraction of the time and cost they would typically spend."
Sydney Medical School Lecturer Dr. Kelsie Boulton, who was the emcee and moderator of the workshop, said, “I see so much potential for researchers across the Brain and Mind Centre to utilize the Cogniss platform and build innovative digital interventions, assessment instruments, data collection tools, and more. I am really excited about the opportunities ahead.”
The event drew a lot of enthusiasm and interest from the researchers. It led to interesting conversations and many researchers wanting to use Cogniss to bring their app ideas to fruition.
We are excited to see how Cogniss can be used to create innovative solutions that support their cutting-edge research in sleep, dementia, ADHD, substance abuse, and more.
