Health Innovation East Digital Hub

A super app that acts as an innovation hub for participants to publish their apps and also as a portal to Health Innovation East’s events, services and resources

Health Innovation East is the innovation arm of the National Health Service (NHS) in the East of England. The organization wanted to help health and care experts overcome obstacles associated with the cost of developing digital solutions, the demands of regulatory compliance and securing the resources required to bring digital technologies to market.

Using Cogniss, Health Innovation East was able to launch its Digital Hub in a matter of weeks (iOS | Android), with the aim of accelerating the development journey of innovations to be launched into the NHS. The Digital Hub is open for applications twice each year and is made available to innovators in cohorts.

Key features of the Digital Hub

  • An innovation sandbox, in which participants can create, publish, test and refine digital health apps prior to launch

  • A forum where users can connect with fellow solutionists

  • Access to Health Innovation East’s events, services and resources

  • An e-learning platform training participants on using no-code

The first cohort of the Digital Health Hub programme was announced in October 2024, and includes 6 participants from NHS Trusts: Croydon, Cambridge University Hospitals (2 teams), Central London Community Healthcare and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (2 teams). Additionally, an academic from the University of Cambridge and two SMEs join this inaugural group.
